The Streets Department is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Infrastructure Technician to join our crew. If you have a knack for maintenance and repair, love working outdoors, and enjoy being part of a dedicated team, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
- Maintenance Maven: Help with preventive maintenance on infrastructure items.
- Street Savvy: Aid in the upkeep of street and drainage systems, and sidewalks.
- Heavy Equipment Hero: Operate backhoes, skidsters, street sweepers, trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Clean Machine: Keep machinery, buildings, and grounds spotless. Dig trenches and backfill ditches like a pro.
- Customer Service Star: Interact with the public, vendors, and other departments to provide assistance, resolve complaints, and ensure smooth operations.
- And More: Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Physical Prowess: Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and handle physical tasks regularly. You'll need to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Credentials: Current Texas Driver's License. A CDL Driver's License is preferred for Infrastructure Technician I and required for Infrastructure Technician II. Infrastructure Technician II must also obtain TCEQ D Water and Wastewater licenses within 12 months of hire.
- Experience: High school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of practical experience in infrastructure or heavy equipment operation. Technical writing and report preparation experience are a plus.
- Skills: Basic computer skills, ability to read and interpret documents, and solid mathematical and reasoning abilities.
