We're Hiring: Parks Maintenance Crew Lead

The City of Jersey Village is looking for a motivated, hands-on Parks Maintenance Crew Lead to help keep our parks beautiful, safe, and welcoming for the community. This working leader role oversees daily crew operations while actively participating in park and grounds maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate park maintenance and landscaping crews

• Assist the Parks Supervisor with scheduling and project coordination

• Maintain parks, playgrounds, sports fields, trails, and facilities

• Operate and maintain equipment (backhoe, skid steer, tractor, forklift, etc.)

• Plan and implement landscaping and irrigation work

• Oversee the department work order system for accurate tracking and reporting

• Ensure safety protocols are followed and crews are properly trained

• Support park improvement and seasonal preparation projects

• Provide courteous assistance to park visitors

This is a working crew lead position - you'll lead by example in the field.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 5 years experience in park maintenance, groundskeeping, or related field

• Valid Texas Driver's License

• Valid Landscape Irrigator License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

• Valid Landscape Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 3 months)

Preferred:

• At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience

Physical & Work Environment

• Lift up to 75 lbs; push/pull up to 150 lbs

• Work outdoors in heat, cold, and varying weather conditions

• Perform physical tasks including kneeling, squatting, and extended walking/standing
